His Little Pyro Blog Release Blitz by V. Kelly

His Little Pyro by V. Kelly
SYNOPSIS:

I’m walking a thin line between revenge and insanity here.
I gave my boyfriend the last three years of my life, only to find out that he’s been banging my best friend Haysleigh behind my back for at least two of them.
I was mad at him.
I’m furious with her.
Men will come and go, but best friends are supposed to be forever. Haysleigh crossed a line I would never cross, and now that she has, it’s time to even the score.
I have to get my revenge.
But, there’s only one thing I know of that I can do that will hurt Haysleigh as much as she hurt me. I need to seduce the only man in her life that she has ever really loved. It’s the man that I’ve been obsessed with since I started realizing boys were a thing. The man I fantasized about taking my virginity, even though I knew he couldn’t. The man who has always been off limits but has always held a special place in my heart. The man who I have feelings for that I can no longer ignore.
He’s sexy.
He’s a firefighter.
He’s also her dad . . .
That’s right, I’m gonna seduce my best friend’s dad.
My only problem . . . I’m going to have to start a fire to do it.

Tagline:
Her thirst for revenge will destroy everything in her path, including him.

Don't Check Out This Book by Kate Klise and M. Sarah Klise

Praise for Kate Klise & M. Sarah Klise’s Three Ring Rascal Series:

The Klise sisters are no newcomers to the world of children’s fiction. Their work is cute and fun with a great message”
New Orleans Advocate (The Show Must Go On!)

Entertaining [and] ‘smafunderful’ (smart + fun + wonderful).”
Kirkus Reviews (The Show Must Go On!)

“True to form, sisters Kate Klise (author) and M. Sarah Klise (illustrator) use clever jokes, wordplay, and adorable illustrations to guide their readers.”
BookPage (The Show Must Go On!)

In the fully illustrated epistolary novel Don’t Check Out This Book!, fifth-grade reporters follow a trail of phone messages, emails, articles, texts, letters, reports, receipts, and more to clear the name of their beloved librarian and clear the local school board of bad apples with criminal intentions. Behind text and images ripe with laugh-out-loud humor and abundant wordplay, including too many puns to count, lies an important message about censorship and readers’ rights to choose their own books. Sisters and collaborators Kate Klise (writer) and M. Sarah Klise (illustrator) have been publishing visual novels for middle-grade readers since long before the current graphic novel explosion. Together, they’ve created more than twenty award-winning books for young readers, including Regarding the Fountain, the 43 Old Cemetery Road series, and most recently the Three-Ring Rascals series.
-over-
In Don’t Check Out This Book!, Appleton Elementary School has a new librarian, Rita B Danjerous. Not everyone in Appleton likes her unconventional methods or her infamous Green Dot Collection, which allows students to borrow books discreetly, without actually checking them out. Under Rita’s influence, students like Reid Durr and Ben Thinken, and even the absent-minded principal, Noah Memree, are staying up way too late reading. While Rita inspires the students and faculty alike, the new school board president and impeccably mannered shop owner Ivana Beprawpa is busy working to shut down the library and force students into uniforms available only at Beprawpa Attire. But what’s behind Ivana’s school uniform policy? A team of fifth-grade sleuths is determined to get to the bottom of Appleton’s juiciest scandal ever.
Author Kate Klise’s books are “fresh, funny, and a delight to read” (School Library Journal). Here she uses her skill and wit to introduce kids to serious topics, such as censorship and abuse of power. “I was really motivated to cook up a book-banning character who could embody all the pettiness and corruption we see in the world today,” Klise says. “I also wanted to create some book-loving characters who could prevail in the end.”
Beneath Appleton’s mystery, there is a pure, unabashed celebration of words, and the rights of all readers to choose their own books. Hilarious, empowering, and exciting, Don’t Check Out This Book! is filled with clever winks to the audience, as if to say “You’re a reader. You get it.” And by the end, we do.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Kate Klise is the award-winning author of more than 30 books for young readers, many of which are illustrated by her sister, M. Sarah Klise. On her way to becoming an author, Kate Klise worked as a babysitter, waitress, ice-skating instructor, and rosebush pruner. She was also a journalist and spent 15 years reporting for People magazine. When she’s not working on a new book, she enjoys traveling around the country, sharing her best writing tips and tricks with aspiring authors of all ages.

M. Sarah Klise has always had a fondness for creating colorful book reports, which began in elementary school with yarn-bound volumes on states and countries. In college, she enjoyed writing heavily illustrated letters home to her mother. Years later, she still does variations of all that when she illustrates books for young readers. She also teaches art classes in Berkley, CA.

Review - Smolder by Tara Ellis and Mike Kraus

Smolder (Flashpoint #2)Title: Smolder
Author: Tara Ellis and Mike Kraus
Series: Flashpoint
Pages: 146
Release Date: October 25th 2019
Format: eBook
Buy it: Amazon
Add it: Goodreads

Synopsis: World governments fall apart as their populations die off en masse, and the few survivors left work to find a way to survive in Flashpoint Book 2....

Half of the earth's population has been wiped out. Impossible to predict or stop, the Gamma Ray Burst tore through the Earth like a bullet, its radiation wave killing hundreds of millions and the aftereffects ensuring the deaths of billions more.

Now, as the world crumbles around them, a ragtag group of survivors make for the only home they know - the small town of Mercy. Spared the worst of the GRB's effects, the town is isolated, safe and self-sufficient - for now. The flash hasn't just decimated the Earth's population, though. It's brought out the worst in many of those who are still alive.

Survival in this new world doesn't just depend on preparedness - it depends on strength.

*****

It's the one disaster no one can plan for. A rogue cosmic event called a Gamma Ray Burst, sending a spike of radiation through the earth like a .50 caliber bullet through a ripe watermelon. It's speculated that such an event hit the Earth at some point in the past, causing a mass extinction event. With two potential sources for a GRB pointed directly at our heads, the chances of another one happening in our lifetime is remote... but still possible.

In Flashpoint, we explore such an event and the havoc it would wreak across the entire planet. From destroying our atmosphere to millions dying from incredibly painful radiation exposure, a GRB would be unpredictable and unavoidable for everyone, rich and poor, prepared and unprepared alike.

Flashpoint is a six-book miniseries-like event, written by Tara Ellis and #1 best-selling post-apocalyptic author Mike Kraus. This thrilling post-apocalyptic survival series will have you second-guessing the very nature of post-apocalyptic disaster scenarios and leave you breathless with every turn of the page.

My Review: Smolder is the second book in the series and it follows on from where book one left off. This story is easy to read and follow

The survivors are on their way to Mercy as this is where their family are.

The second story introduces some new characters who are a part of the military and they are now trying to get some semblance of control so that they can start setting up camps to save people.

Danny and Sam are making their way closer to Mercy and along the way encounter trouble but also end up inviting someone to join them.

Tom is injured but he goes looking for his son Ethan.

Ethan is still with his captors but manages to leave a note for his father to help find him, will Ethan and Tom be reunited?

Russell decides to take shelter in people’s houses, eating their food and drinking their water luckily for them they are not home and on his way to Mercy runs into some military, will he get found out or will they let him pass them by?

The one thing I like about this multi perspective series is that each time it goes back to the next character it continues their story and does not repeat anything from the last time we read from their point of view.

I’m really looking forward to reading #3
